Apply to Become a Peer Mentor

Mentors serve as a resource for mentees, providing them with information to help them acclimate to the University of Maryland.  Mentors serve as a sounding board for the various issues that confront new students - such as what classes to take, how to interact with an advisor, joining professional societies and other concerns.  The new students need someone they can talk to who understands the pressures they face as engineering students who also happen to be under-represented.  Mentees have said that it is just nice to know that someone was there that they could go to.

Apply to Become a Mentor Coordinator

Mentor Coordinators are in charge of coordinating a group of SEEDS peer mentors.  This includes meeting with Peer Mentors once every two weeks, ensure mentors turn in forms and are meeting with mentees and helping with event planning and execution. You must have previously served as a Peer Mentor in order to qualify for the Mentor Coordinator position.
